Epimac is an EU funded Training Network for young researchers, focussing on new medicine development in the area of epigenetics.
Gut Research is a research group that is part of the Tytgat Institute for Liver and Intestinal Research, and the Dept. of Gastroenterology at the Academic Medical Center (AMC) in Amsterdam. We are a group of research fellows, master students, basic researchers and physicians that hope to bridge basic research and drug development.
The Academic Medical Center (AMC) is one of the foremost research institutions in the Netherlands, as well as one of its largest hospitals. Over 7000 people work here to provide integrated patient care, fundamental and clinical scientific research, and teaching. The AMC complex houses the university hospital and the faculty of medicine of UvA as well as the Emma Children’s Hospital, the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience, the medical department of the Royal Tropical Institute and the Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development. During the next few years, the Spinoza Centre for Neuroimaging building will arise next to AMC. A number of biotech companies (some of which are AMC spin-offs) are also located on the premises. This concentration of expertise makes the centre a breeding ground for fruitful scientific collaboration.
